West Pokot County to Host ICT Hub Under Konza Technopolis Initiative

West Pokot County is set to benefit from a state-of-the-art ICT hub following a partnership with Konza Technopolis. H.E. Governor Simon Kachapin recently hosted a delegation led by Eng. Anthony Sang, Chief Manager of the Construction, Operation, and Management Department, to discuss the establishment of the facility.
The visit introduced Prime Telkoms, the company tasked with constructing the proposed ICT Centre in Tartar. This development is part of Konza Technopolis’ national strategy to expand digital infrastructure through the rollout of Digital Hubs across all 1,450 wards in Kenya.

West Pokot Sub-County will be the first in the region to benefit from this transformative initiative.
During the meeting, the Konza team presented architectural designs for the ICT Centre, which Governor Kachapin welcomed as a significant step towards enhancing technology access in the county. He commended the Ministry of ICT’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and pledged full support for the project’s successful implementation.
The discussions brought together stakeholders, including officials from the County Government, the ICT Authority (ICTA), and the Department of Public Works. All parties committed to working collaboratively to ensure the timely completion of the ICT hub, which is expected to boost digital literacy, innovation, and economic opportunities in West Pokot County.
