West Pokot County Strengthens Commitment to National Values and Good Governance

Deputy Governor H.E. Robert Komolle hosted a delegation from the Directorate of National Cohesion and Values for a crucial discussion on an initiative aimed at training government officials on the National Values and Principles of Governance. The training focuses on mainstreaming and reporting these values in line with Article 10 of the Constitution, which emphasizes patriotism, social justice, transparency, accountability, and good governance.

"As leaders, it is our duty to ensure that these principles are not only well understood but also effectively implemented at all levels of governance. Beyond being a legal obligation, upholding these values is a commitment to fostering ethical leadership, integrity, and responsible decision-making." Stated the deputy governor.
The discussion was attended by Hon. Martin Lottee, CECM for Public Service Management, ICT, and Devolved Units, who emphasized the significance of this training as part of broader efforts to enhance public service delivery and performance. 
Later the delegation met other  county officials including CECMs Lucky Litole ( Culture, Tourism, Sports,), Esther Chelimo (Lands, Housing, and Urban Development), Rebecca Kide (Education and Technical Training), Claire Parklea (Trade, Industry, and Investment), Wilfred Longronyang (Agriculture and Livestock), William Petot (Water), and Joshua Siwanyang ( Roads, Transport, and Public Works) among other officials from the County Government of West Pokot 
This initiative marks an important step in reinforcing the County Government of West Pokot’s commitment to upholding national values and strengthening public service integrity, and by equipping government officials with the necessary knowledge and tools, a strong foundation will be laid for a governance culture that reflects the aspirations of our Constitution and the expectations of the people we serve.
