West Pokot County Reinforces Commitment to Primary Health Care at Inaugural Exhibition
Deputy Governor Robert Komolle represented His Excellency Governor Simon Kachapin at the inaugural West Pokot County Primary Health Care Exhibition. The event provided an important platform for the Department of Health to engage with partners supporting health initiatives and investments across the county.
The event aimed to assess the state of primary health care in West Pokot County, review progress, and evaluate the county's investments in infrastructure and personnel. A key outcome was the signing of the EKA Declaration, a commitment between the county and development partners to strengthen the primary care network and enhance health services for residents.
UNICEF Country Representative Shaheen Nilofor and Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Mary Muthoni, participated in the event where they commended the county’s commitment in achieving Universal Health Care with five out of six primary care networks established ensuring quality health care is within reach at the community level.
