West Pokot County First Lady's Generosity Brightens World Red Cross Day at Kapenguria County Referral Hospital
West Pokot County joined the global celebration of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, honoring volunteers for their humanitarian action.
Despite ongoing crises like flooding, landslides, rockfalls and food insecurity, the Red Cross team continues to support the county by raising awareness and responding to disasters.
H.E. Scovia Chebet Kachapin, along with county executive committee member Paul Woyakapel, Chief Officer Nelly Soprin, Scholarstica Kapello of Red Cross, and healthcare workers, gathered to mark the 106th anniversary of the Red Cross, themed "Keeping Humanity Alive."
During her visit to Kapenguria County Referral Hospital, H.E Scovia Chebet Kachapin donated two incubators, an incu blanket to Kapenguria County Referral Hospital and bread, fruits, milk, basins, and bedsheets to patients. She praised the Red Cross's dedication to serving West Pokot County residents and acknowledged the invaluable work of healthcare professionals.
CEC Paul Woyakapel commended both the First Lady and the Red Cross team for their contributions to the health sector and humanity at large. Chief Nelly Soprin expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her contributions.
The Red Cross team emphasized the importance of kindness and selfless giving, inspiring everyone to contribute to society's betterment.
