WEST POKOT COUNTY COLLABORATES WITH PARTNERS TO SHAPE YOUTH POLICY AGENDA
Department of Culture, Tourism, Sports, Youth Affairs, and Social Services, supported by DSW-Kenya, initiated a two-day meeting at Grand Tenacity Hotel-Kitale to craft a Youth Policy.
This policy aims to tackle the specific challenges faced by young people, including access to education, employment opportunities, healthcare, housing, and social inclusion.
Ms. Lucky Litole, the County Executive Committee member for the department, commended the significant support provided by development partners to West Pokot County, particularly in advocating for youth issues. "Our development partners have facilitated numerous projects, and I am grateful for their support in crafting policies within our department," remarked the CEC.
Edwin Lokomol, Chief Officer of Sports and Youth Affairs, also expressed gratitude towards partners such as DSW-Kenya, World Vision, Declares Kenya, Village Enterprise, Dream Alive Africa, and ACF for their substantial support and collaboration in developing the Youth Policy. "The assistance extended to our county, especially towards our youth, is highly commendable. We will continue working together to nurture a generation of youths who are well supported in pursuing their passions," emphasized the Chief Officer.
The event brought together various stakeholders to formulate a comprehensive document that addresses the needs of the youth in West Pokot County.
