West Pokot County Cabinet Ratifies Comprehensive Child Protection Framework

The West Pokot County cabinet led by Governor Simon Kachapin has today adopted and ratified the West Pokot County Child Protection Policy in a meeting facilitated by UNICEF and World Vision in Sirikwa Hotel, Eldoret.

The policy aims to establish a legal framework for coordinating child protection programs and promoting collaboration between various state agencies and partners involved in child welfare. This will ensure children are safeguarded from harm, their well being promoted and their rights are respected and upheld in all aspects of the society.

It was developed by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Gender, Social Services, and Sports, led by county executive committee member Hon. Lucky Litole, with contributions from the Departments of Education and Technical Training, Health and Sanitation, and Public Service Management, Devolved Units, Administration, and ICT together with various partners.
