West Pokot County Agro-Ecology Policy Forum Held at Kilimo House
The County Government of West Pokot, through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Irrigation, convened a multi-stakeholder forum at Kilimo House in Kapenguria to refine the final draft of the West Pokot County Agro-Ecology Policy.

The consultative forum brought together farmers, policymakers, researchers, and civil society representatives to ensure inclusivity in the policy-making process. Discussions focused on defining agroecology, sharing best practices, and addressing challenges such as funding, training, and market access.

Stakeholders emphasized the need for a bottom-up approach, ensuring local farmers and indigenous communities play a key role in shaping the policy. The county government through the department reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and food security.
Feedback from the forum will be incorporated into the final draft before official adoption and implementation.
