Sector Working Group on Climate Services Activities Unveiled

County Executive Committee Member for Lands, Urban development, Physical Planning and Housing Hon. Esther Chelimo graced the inception workshop for unveiling sector working group on climate services activities by E4IMPACT FOUNDATION in which they provided a comprehensive overview on the current state of GIS and the need to equip and operationalize the existing GIS Lab.


In response, Hon. Chelimo expressed her commitment to fostering a productive working relationship with the Sector Working Group. She further emphasized the importance of synergy and coordination in achieving their shared goals on climate services.

The official unveiling of the Sector Working Group with an overview of its mission and objectives where the activities/calendar of events will be shared later.
Various way forwards were mentioned which will be prioritized according to the needs as the Sector Working Group will identify as they align their calendar.
In attendance were West Pokot County Drought Coordinator, National Drought Management Authority Michael Kumithi, Elijah Wekesa and Dorcas Yano of E4IMPACT, Leah Cherop of NRT among technical officers from the county.
