SAVING MOTHERS FOUNDATION IN COLLABORATION WITH THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT SET TO ENHANCE MATERNAL HEALTHCARE

Department of Health and Sanitation CEC Paul Woyakapel, CO Health Nelly Soprin, and CO Public Works Rueben Lotumale received a team from Saving Mothers Foundation, who are in the county to conduct a two-week medical screening camp aimed at enhancing maternal healthcare.

CEC Woyakapel emphasized the invaluable collaboration with Saving Mothers in supporting mothers countywide through frequent medical camps.

West Pokot County, in collaboration with the Saving Mothers Foundation is set to construct a mother and baby complex for comprehensive care at Kapenguria County Referral Hospital.

"The county government has allocated funds for the mother and baby complex in the July 2024 financial year," stated the CO.

President of Saving Mothers, Taranneh Shiraziah, pledged continued collaboration with the West Pokot County Government, under H.E. Simon Kachapin's guidance, to save more mothers and infants.

They further discussed strategies for the project's success, including spacious patient rooms and the provision of ultrasound machines and other essential delivery equipment.

Present included Program Director for Saving Mothers Kenya Augustine Loria, along with Doctors Kapchanga and Jeremiah Plimo.
