Ripple Effect Kenya Partners with West Pokot to Promote Climate-Smart Farming

Ripple Effect Kenya, led by Alfred Juma, Programme and Partnership Support Manager, visited the West Pokot County Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock, and Fisheries.
The team kicked off their visit with a tour of the County Fruit and Cash Crops Tree Nursery, where they learned about the county’s efforts to promote sustainable farming through tree planting and agroforestry.

Speaking at the event, Thomas Wasike, County Project Coordinator for the Emergency Locust Response Project (ELRP) who represented the county executive committee member for the department of agriculture irrigation livestock and fisheries Wilfred Longronyang, praised the farmers for embracing smart farming. He called on Ripple Effect Kenya and other partners to continue working together to achieve a food-secure, climate-resilient West Pokot.
