Positive Deliberations on Accelerating Ortum Cement Factory launch

Simba Cement Limited team paid a courtesy call to Governor Simon Kachapin at the governor's residence in Kapenguria.

The team led by Devki Group Administrator Peter Paul and Geoffrey Sangwatei HRM/Liaison cemtech discussed several issues including factory launching which will tentatively February 2024 where the president is expected to officially commission the factory .

In 2022, Simba Cement acquired Cemtech after being dormant for a decade. The Devki Group of Companies owns Simba Cement Limited (Simba Cement) and the cement factory is expected to create jobs and raise the economic profile of West Pokot County.

Also in attendance were H.E. Achaule Robert Komolle, Deputy Governor and Chief officer in charge of water natural resources, environment and climate change Leonard Kamsait.
