Kapenguria Municipality Board members meet to discuss its progress

Key among the agenda was consideration to adopt Planning & Development Committee Report and Finance & General Purpose Committee Report.

AG. Municipal Manager Joseph Eritom gave a status report regarding the municipality where planning and development, human resource and gender, finance and general purpose and audit and risk management committees were introduced.

Further engagements regarding Kapenguria Municipality were also discussed where the board members acknowledged the progress made and the future developments it has to benefit the residents.

The municipality is tasked with the construction of Parking bays in Makutano town, street/security lights installation within the municipality, taking inventory of plots within the municipality, construction of storied market block in Makutano, beautification of the Municipality among other responsibilities under the Urban Areas and Cities Act 2011, the County Government Act 2012, the Public Finance Management Act 2012, West Pokot County.

In attendance were County Executive Committee member for Lands Housing Physical Planning and Urban Development Hon. Esther Chelimo, Chief Officer in-charge of Lands Housing and Urban Development Mathew Rionokol, Kapenguria Municipality Board chairman Yator among other board members.
