INTER-COUNTY EXCHANGE PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS YOUTH EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVES
A cross-learning exchange program involving representatives from West Pokot and
Nyandarua counties, and the host Nakuru county, recently took place. The
delegation visited several key sites, including the Shabab ICT-Hub, Kagoto
Dhanji Vocational Training Center, Nakuru County Empowerment Center, and Nakuru
Players Theatre. At the Nakuru Textile Hub in Menengai, a variety of garments were
showcased during a modeling event.
Hon. Litole Lucky, the West Pokot County Executive Committee Member for Youth,
Sports, Culture, and Tourism, expressed gratitude to Governor Susan Kihika for
her leadership in empowering the youth through innovation, skills, and talent
development. She emphasized her intention to share these insights with her home
administration to enhance support for the youth in West Pokot.
The County Executive Committee Member for Youth, Sports, Gender, and Social
Services, Josephine Atieno, praised the teams from West Pokot and Nyandarua for
their efforts and participation. She encouraged continued strengthening of
inter-county relationships to foster networking and advocate for youth
socio-economic empowerment.
The event was attended by representatives from Nakuru, West Pokot, and
Nyandarua counties, along with members of DanChurchAid, Daraja 360, and ADS
NRR.
