Informal Settlements in the County Set to Benefit from KISIP’s Land Regularisation Component

The County Project Coordination team (CPCT) for the second Kenyan Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP2) led by the county coordinator Joseph Eritom received a team from the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development State Department of Housing and Urban Development comprising of Martin Musembi and Anthony Kimosop.

he team from the National Ministry is in the county for an assessment and verification exercise on the eleven additional informal settlements in West Pokot County for consideration under KISIP's component of land tenure regularisation.

The additional settlements include Bendera centre, Kapenguria AP line, Siyoi centre, Keringet centre, Murkokoi centre, Kapkoris centre, Murkwijit centre, Kishaunet centre, Sebit centre, Marich centre and Chepkono centre.

During their assessment and verification visit, various members of the public shared their views on the component, welcoming it and promising to work with the teams to realise the intended goal.

KISIP's component for tenure security has received additional funding from AFD aimed at enhancing tenure regularization activities under phase II.
