Honoring National Police Reservists at Turkwel Power Station

H.E. Simon Kachapin joined the Turkwel Power Station community in recognizing and appreciating the dedication and sacrifices of the National Police Reservists (NPR). These courageous individuals play a vital role in maintaining security, ensuring peace, and safeguarding communities across the region.
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance security in West Pokot, the County Government has taken proactive measures, including deploying a security vehicle to the area and introducing the Peace and Pasture Management Policy. This groundbreaking initiative fosters structured, community-led resource-sharing while mitigating conflicts—paving the way for lasting peace and harmony among neighboring communities.
The event brought together key security officials, including Commissioner Kemboi (representing the Office of the Inspector General), County Commander Issa Muhammad, DCC Wycliffe Mnanda, and senior county officials. Their presence reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening security, promoting stability, and fostering peaceful coexistence in West Pokot.
Later, Governor Kachapin visited Marich Fresh Produce Market for a spot check on the progress of ongoing infrastructure improvements. These developments aim to enhance market facilities, boost trade opportunities, and support local businesses, reinforcing the County Government’s commitment to economic growth and development.
