GOVERNORS OF FCDC COUNTIES ADVOCATE FOR FAIR REVENUE SHARING IN NEXT CYCLE

In a collaborative effort aimed at ensuring equitable resource allocation, Governor Simon Kachapin, alongside his counterparts from the Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC), convened to discuss the forthcoming Fourth Basis for Revenue Sharing among counties.

The meeting, which brought together Governors representing various FCDC counties, focused on reviewing the current 3rd Basis for Revenue Sharing and formulating proposals for the upcoming cycle spanning from 2025/26 to 2029/30.

During the deliberations, the governors collectively emphasized the need for the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) to take into account the unique challenges faced by the FCDC counties. They underscored the importance of addressing these challenges to ensure fair and effective distribution of resources among all counties.

The governors articulated their proposals, outlining key areas where adjustments and considerations are essential to better cater to the needs of FCDC counties. These proposals encompassed various sectors, including infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and agriculture, among others.

Furthermore, the governors reiterated their commitment to collaboration and dialogue with relevant stakeholders, including the national government and the CRA, to ensure that the interests of FCDC counties are adequately represented in the formulation of the Fourth Basis for Revenue Sharing.
