Governor Kachapin Urges Principals to Ensure Prudent Use of School Funds
Governor Simon Kachapin flanked by
Deputy Governor Robert Komolle held a meeting with principals from
various schools across the region to discuss bursary fund and other key issues
in the sector.
During the meeting, Governor Kachapin underscored the critical importance of prudent financial management within schools, advising principals to diligently oversee the allocation and utilization of funds entrusted to them.
He emphasized the necessity of using allocated funds solely for their intended purposes, urging against the mismanagement that could adversely affect educational outcomes.
The governor urged principals to
refrain from sending students home due to financial constraints. Governor
Kachapin assured boarding schools of an allocation of 20,000 Kenyan Shillings
to support their operational needs, aiming to alleviate financial burdens and
ensure the uninterrupted provision of education.
Moreover, Governor Kachapin issued a stern warning against any form of mismanagement or corruption involving school funds. He emphasized that stringent actions would be taken against any principal found to be negligent or involved in corrupt practices, stressing the importance of transparency and accountability in financial matters.
"The impact of these funds must be tangible and directly beneficial to the educational welfare of our students," remarked Governor Kachapin.
The principals pledged their commitment to upholding the highest standards of financial integrity and accountability. They assured Governor Kachapin and the county administration that funds would be utilized judiciously and transparently, with a keen focus on advancing the educational objectives of their respective institutions.
