GOVERNOR KACHAPIN TOURS KAPENGURIA REFERRAL HOSPITAL, PROMISES TO IMPROVE HEALTHCARE

H.E. Governor Simon Kachapin and his deputy Hon. Robert Komolle inspected Kapenguria County Referral Hospital to ascertain the state of  healthcare services at the hospital.

Key areas highlighted; hospital general infrastructure, staff shortage and inadequate drugs.

Governor Kachapin said that he’ll see that the medical complex is well equipped with infrastructure and personnel to improve services to the people.

After visiting most sections of the hospital, including the male and female wards, paediatric, labour wards and pharmacy sections, he learnt that some critical machines were not working or had not been serviced.

He pointed out that the Health Department receives the biggest share of the county budget, and should guarantee its residents access to quality healthcare services at all public hospitals.

“Our major focus in this administration is the health sector and we need a functional hospital ready to offer quality services to our people. I want to leave this county better than I found it,” said Governor Kachapin.

Patients at the hospital have in past complained of congestion and poor services besides lack of drugs and other critical medical supplies.

Governor Kachapin reiterated that his administration will work closely with all departments to ensure to holistic development across the county.
