Governor Kachapin Reshuffles Cabinet, Changes Aim to Improve Service Delivery

West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin has undertaken a cabinet reshuffle with the aim of improving service delivery and augment performances in the County.

Several changes which take effect immediately have been made within the administration to ensure more effective governance across the county departments.

Paul Woyakapel, who beforehand held the position of Finance and Economic Planning County Executive Committee member, has been moved to Health and Sanitation and Joshua Ruto from the department of Roads, Public Works and Transport will now lead the Finance and Economic Planning docket.

In addition, Claire Parklea who headed the Health and Sanitation docket has been moved to head the department of Trade, Cooperative Development, Industry and Energy. Joshua Siwanyang who previously headed the Department of Culture, Tourism, Sports, Youth Affairs and Social Services moves to Roads, Public Works and Transport while Lucky Litole and William Petot moves to Culture, Tourism, Sports, Youth Affairs and Social Services and Water, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change respectively.

Furthermore, changes have been made to the chief officer positions.

Daniel Lopale, formerly responsible for Public Service Management and ICT, has been transferred to the Trade department and will be replaced by Musa Losiangole, who previously worked in the Trade’s department

Lilian Korinyang has been moved from Special Programs, Humanitarian Coordination and Disaster Management to Vocational and Technical Training.

David Chepelion, who served in the Executive Office of the Governor will assume the role of chief officer for Special Programs, Humanitarian Coordination and Disaster Management while Raphael Kalomaria, previously in Vocational and Technical Training will now oversee the Executive Office of the Governor portfolio.

Governor Kachapin has expressed confidence in the changes made and emphasised the power of teamwork which contributes greatly to the overall achievement of the ultimate objectives of each department.
