Governor Kachapin Inaugurates Key Health and Education Projects in Lelan Ward
In a significant development tour of Lelan Ward, H.E. Governor Simon Kachapin, accompanied by Deputy Governor H.E. Achaule Robert Komolle, inaugurated several critical health and education projects aimed at improving the quality of life for the local community.
The Governor officially commissioned the Chepungon Dispensary, a vital healthcare facility designed to provide essential medical services to the residents of Lelan. This dispensary is expected to enhance access to healthcare, ensuring that local communities receive timely medical care.
In the education sector, Governor Kachapin visited Chepungon Primary School, reaffirming his administration's unwavering commitment to improving educational infrastructure across West Pokot. At Kapsangar Primary School, the Governor laid the foundation stone for a new girls' dormitory, a project that will promote girls’ education by offering improved living and learning environments. Furthermore, he officially opened a new dormitory at Kapsangar Secondary School, which will provide much-needed accommodation, thereby enhancing the academic experience for students.
Deputy Governor Robert Komolle echoed the Governor’s vision, emphasizing the transformative impact these projects will have on the Lelan community, particularly in healthcare and education.
Key county officials present during the development tour included County Executive Committee Members Martin Lottee (Public Service Management and Devolved Units), Rebecca Kide (Education), Paul Woyakapel (Health), and Joshua Ruto (Infrastructure), alongside Chief Officers Nelly Soprin (Health) and Leonard Kamsait (water).
These initiatives are part of the West Pokot County Government’s broader agenda to enhance healthcare and education, furthering its commitment to sustainable community development and improving the livelihoods of its residents.
