Governor Kachapin Calls on All County Executive to be proactive and Deliver on His Manifesto

Governor Simon Kachapin held a senior management meeting with all county executive committee members and chief officers as part of the inaugural meeting for the year 2024.

Top on the agenda was to discuss and agree on the county’s priorities for the new year where projects for 2023/2024 that require full implementation were reviewed.

“All projects that are undertaken in this county are for the benefit of our; the people of West Pokot County. You as administrative leaders need to be hands-on with the projects identified. Each department that you head plays a crucial role in the development of our county. Let’s engage more in our service delivery and filter out all the elements that hinder development” stated Governor Kachapin.

In addition, a brief report on the just released equalization fund for projects in West Pokot County worth 1 billion shillings was shared for the members to have an insight into the projects and its impact on the community.

Finally, plans for projects for 2023/2024 financial year were deliberated where the Governor emphasized the need for all departments to move with speed to ensure that all projects that require open tender and other procurement of goods, works and services are fully completed by the end of this financial year.

To reinforce his commitment, Governor Kachapin urged the team to ensure other county projects which are ward specific worth 600milliion are driven by the departments and clear implementation of the projects be documented.

“County Budget Finance Committee should begin the next cycle of budgeting in earnest starting with public participation as soon as possible so that we can deliver on manifesto.” Directed the governor
