GIZ in Partnership with ACF Rehabilitates Kacheliba Saleyard

Action Against Hunger in partnership with GIZ paid a courtesy call to County Executive Committee member for Agriculture and Livestock Hon. Wilfred Longronyang and Chief Officer Naomi Lemreng at Kilimo House in Kapenguria where they informed them of the ongoing renovations at Kacheliba Saleyard in Suam ward.

Subsequently, the team accompanied by technical staff from the Departments of Agriculture and Water monitored the site of rehabilitation works and water supply at the sale-yard implemented by Action Against Hunger through funding from GIZ as part of SCIDA III initiative which aims to Strengthening the Capacity of IGAD to Enhance Drought Resilience in the Horn of Africa.

The Kacheliba livestock market is important considering its role as a secondary market by improving the returns received from livestock-keeping enterprises by pastoralists.
