Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) Kenya in collaboration with County Government of West Pokot, Action Against Hunger (ACF), Rotary International, FIND, World Vision among other partners held a free medical camp at St Comboni Kacheliba Girls primary school in Kacheliba.
Through this collaboration, there is hope to make a significant difference in preventing and treating neglected tropical diseases including Kala-Zar, mycetoma and Leishmaniasis by accelerating the development of new medicines and improving access to safe and effective treatments in the region.
Speaking during the camp, County Executive Committee Member for Health and Sanitation Claire Parklea encouraged the residents to use the opportunity for early diagnosis to be able to manage and treat these diseases.
In attendance was the DNDi Ambassador Tegla Lorupe who called on the residents to avail themselves for the 10Km Charity Run-a run set for Saturday 18/11/2023 in support of the neglected patients.
