Farmers Registration/Project Beneficiary Profiling Training
The County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Wilfred Longronyang, officially opened a three-day training program for Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors facilitated by Emergency Locust Response Program of Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock Development in West Pokot county led by county coordinator Thomas Wasike.
The training that encompasses Farmers Registration/Project Beneficiary Profiling is a joint effort between the County Government of West Pokot and Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock Development to emphasize the collection of accurate data from farmers and its significance in the county's agricultural development planning and strategy.
During the meeting, CEC Longronyang urged the Trainees to approach their responsibilities with integrity, ensuring the effective implementation of the knowledge acquired during the training to the selected Agri-preneurs. He emphasized the importance of their role in representing both two levels of government (national and county) efficiently and effectively.
Among other issues addressed during the meeting was ethical and confidential aspects while handling farmers' data.
The training of Trainers program will be taken through by Lawrence Monoo (Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries), Monicah Muge (Kenya Bureau of Statistics), Anastacia Kagungu and Okombo Bery of KALRO.
In attendance were County Directors Peter Kodwaran (Agriculture), Dr. Anthony Wesonga (Livestock), Dr. Samuel Chelimo (Veterinary) and Samoe Kipkosgei (Fisheries).
