FAO Supports Deworming of Sheep and Goats in the county

The County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries Wilfred Longronyang received 2,000 litres of 10% Albendazole from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Kenya.
The County Veterinary section led by Dr. Samuel Chelimo in collaboration with FAO's field service provider VSF Germany through the 4 months project of Livelihoods Support to Mitigate the impact of drought for the most vulnerable pastoral and agro-pastoral communities of West Pokot County, will conduct livestock deworming and supportive treatment in selected locations in Riwo, Suam and Batei wards from 27th November to 7th December, 2023.
Speaking during the exercise, CEC Longronyang applauded FAO's support in the sector and promised to continue to support and work with the organization.
He further called on the community to support the Project Implementation Team (PIT) whom they will engage with during the exercise.
The 2000 litres received today is able to deworm 400,000 sheep and goats in the county.
