Enhancing Education in Lomut Ward: Cheptulel Boys’ School Welcomes Over 73 Students
In a significant step toward improving education in West Pokot, over 73 students from Surumben in Mosol Ward have been successfully transported back to Cheptulel Boys’ School in Lomut Ward.

This initiative, spearheaded by H.E. Governor Simon Kitalei Kachapin and overseen by Rev. Jackson Alukusia, the Director for Peace, highlights the County Government’s dedication to providing quality education and fostering peace in the region.
The students, spanning Forms 1 to 4, had previously studied at Nyangaita and Surumben Secondary Schools between 2021 and 2025. Their relocation to Cheptulel Boys’ School ensures access to a more conducive learning environment, paving the way for improved academic performance.

This achievement reflects the collaborative efforts of the County Government and the national administration in creating peaceful conditions that support education and development.

Looking ahead, Cheptulel Boys’ School is set to welcome additional students from the Marakwet region, further strengthening its role as a hub for educational excellence
