EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES: PROGRESS UPDATE ON WEE-CSA PROJECT IN KACHAPIN COUNTY
Governor Simon Kachapin welcomed a delegation from UN Women, FAO, and KOICA, led by Elizabeth Obundo, UN Women Team Lead, and Robert Otundo, FAO Team Lead. Also present were Jangmi Jangmi, Project Analyst, Mary Kiratu, M&E Analyst, Atupamoi Mose, Project Assistant, Brian Cherutich, Programme Officer, Emmanuel Oigo, Director Gender National Government, Nathaniel Maiyo, and Fred Stingo from Village Enterprise.
They provided an update on the Women Economic Empowerment Project through Climate Smart Agriculture (WEE-CSA) funded jointly with the County Government.
Governor Kachapin expressed gratitude for the support from donors, particularly KOICA, which has benefited 27 groups comprising over 1300 individuals. He emphasized the collaboration between KOICA, UN Women, FAO, the county government, and Village Enterprise in implementing various initiatives, including onion and poultry farming, climate-smart agriculture, livestock rearing, dorper sheep, and apiculture, positively impacting women, people with disabilities, and youth.
CEC Wilfred Longronyang, COs Naomi Lemreng, Edwin Lokomol, and Chief of Staff Tyno Rotino were also in attendance. The delegation plans to visit groups in Riwo, Suam, and Batei over the next three days to assess their progress.
