Deputy Governor Robert Komolle Meets Bodaboda Leadership

Robert Komolle held a meeting with the leadership of County Bodaboda Saccos in
Kapenguria.
In his address, the DG acknowledged the role played by the bodaboda operators in revenue generation, the growth of the transport sector, and the economy of the County and the country at large.
"You play a very big role in the revenue accumulation, in the transport sector, and in the growth of the economy within our County. As a county government we understand that times have changed and it has become tough to achieve what you've set to attain on a daily basis," said the Deputy Governor.
The Boda Boda business has been an important source of employment to a number of youths and this venture should be addressed appropriately.
The County Government of West Pokot especially the County Revenue section, has been on the forefront in their quest to empower the bodaboda sector through waivers, saccos and training.
H.E. Achaule Robert Komolle, Deputy Governor said that the County government will support bodaboda association leadership to realize their mission and vision.
Henry Napareng-County director of revenue who was in attendance asked them to ensure that they comply with the minimum requirements for them to be qualified riders to avoid accidents.
Consequently, several issues were raised including licensing, insecurity and insurance which the Deputy Governor asked the director of revenue to liaise with the concerned county departments to tackle the issue.
Deputy Komolle asked the boda boda riders to be disciplined and advised them to pay for their monthly motorbike stickers for their smooth operations and promised to liaise with the County Department of Trade to look into issues like bodaboda shades and parking spaces across the county.
