COUNTY GOVERNMENT OF WEST POKOT, AJIRA DIGITAL AND ADS INITIATES AJIRA POA TRAINING FOR YOUTH

The County Government of West Pokot has partnered with Ajira Digital and ADS in offering a week-long training to the youth at Makutano youth empowerment Center starting Monday 22nd May, 2023. 

Thetraining is geared towards equipping young trainees and post-college students with life skills and ICT knowledge relevant to the current job market and digital work.

Makutano youth Empowerment Center is a facility that was established by H.E Governor Simon Kachapin in accordance to his pledge of empowering the youth with digital skills and literacy in order to compete favorably with its peers in other Counties as well as internationally.

Speaking during the official opening of the training the CEC Member for Tourism, Culture, Sports, Youth Affairs and Social Service Mr. Siwanyang reiterated that the county government is in the right trajectory in empowering the youth thus pointing out that the training will be conducted in the other sub-county youth centers to ensure it impacts on as many young people as possible.

The Chief officer for ICT Mr. Daniel Lopale affirmed the youth of continued support from the department citing a pledge to increase computers and establish a stable internet connection to aid in their online work.

The CECM was also accompanied by Chief Officer for Youth and Sports Mr. Edwin Lokomol, Chief Officer for Trade Mr. Musa Losiangole and The Head of ICT Mr. Pius Rotich.
