Chepkono Residents Set to Benefit from a New Cattle Dip
The County Government of West Pokot is committed to strengthening
livestock farming in the county through increased production of milk and other
animal products especially in terms of value addition that consequently promote
economic growth.
Speaking at Chepkono where the County Executive Committee Member Hon. Wilfred Longironyang in the company of County Executive Committee member for Finance and Economic Planning Hon. Joshua Ruto represented Governor Simon Kachapin in commissioning a new cattle dip, CEC Longironyang said the county government through the department will support and walk with the farmers in their journey towards a successful and profitable farming.
Additional, Governor Kachapin’s administration is actively supporting several farmers' groups with the aim of empowering them to elevate their agriculture and livestock ventures.
“We are always ready to assisting farmers in fighting the spread of parasites and animal diseases, this is a critical step towards ensuring the well-being of our livestock and the success of our community,” said Longironyang.
In addition, 34 cattle dips across Lelan ward received 510 litres of assorted acaricides (dip).
This initiative plays a pivotal role in addressing challenges faced by livestock farmers in Chepkono. Chepkono cattle dip is a fully funded project of the County Government of West Pokot for the financial year 2022/2023 under the administration of H.E Governor Simon Kachapin
