Our youngsters Kapenguria Heroes and Tartar maroons could soon be on a flight to London and train alongside Harambee Stars captain who doubles as Tottenham Hotspur player Victor Wanyama should they win the Chapa Dimba Safaricom tournament.
In the just concluded Rift Regionals held in Narok, Kapenguria Heroes and Tartar Maroons emerged at the top in the rift beating Nakuru All-stars 2-0 and Iten Ladies 7-1 respectively.

Each of the teams received Ksh 200,000 cash prize while each player went home with a tecno mobile phone and airtime worth 2,000.

Speaking on behalf of the governor while receiving the teams at the governors’ office, The County Secretary Michael Parklea congratulated both teams for putting the county on the spotlight, saying the county would continue to support the teams as they proceed to the finals. The governor gave each team Ksh 50,000 as an expression of his gratitude.
Both the teams will now proceed for the nationals which will be held in March next year and stand a chance to win Ksh 1,000,000 as the grand prize for the champions of the tourney.
The teams were accompanied by the Youth, Sports and Tourism CEC Emily Chepoghisyo.
