West Pokot County is this year's host of the Rift Valley primary school regional games. The sporting extravaganza which was officially launched by West Pokot County Secretary Dr. Mike Parklea yesterday will see Rift Valley primary schools battle it out for premierships in football, volleyball, netball and handball.
Hosts West Pokot are grouped to seek supremacy in Pool D together with Nakuru and Elgeyo Marakwet in boy's football.
Trans Nzoia, Nandi, Bomet and Uasin Gishu will battle it out in pool A as Kericho, Samburu, Laikipia and Kajiado wrestle in pool B. Pool C has Turkana, Narok and Baringo, according to the fixtures released by Rift Valley Primary Schools Sports Association Secretary general Mamai Etyang.
In girls’ football, Turkana, Nakuru, Bomet and Baringo are in Pool A while Pool B has West Pokot, Narok, Laikipia and Kajiado.
Pool C has Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet, while Pool D groups together Nandi, Kericho and Samburu.
Only pupils born before September 2004 will be eligible to feature in the ball-games extravaganza. The event will come to a close on Saturday 14th June 2019 and will be officially closed by West Pokot governor Prof. John Lonyang'apuo
