Having a clear understanding of the revenue administration reform modernization, strategy is very important in unlocking the revenue potential of the county. It is from this understanding that the county government of West Pokot in partnership with Sense Networks Consultants led by Titus Tarus, has begun training revenue officers on cashless revenue collection system.
The training will offer the necessary building blocks towards building capacity of staff, who are key in revamping the county’s revenue collection strategy.
Francis Tuliamuk- Revenue Director said the exercise is expected to enhance collection of revenue in the county.
Tuliamuk further said that the new automated revenue system is expected to be implemented in three months’ time. He said the new system will increase revenue by 30%.
The requirement by the Commission on Revenue Allocation for a county to qualify for a share of revenues collected is pegged to its ability to collect a minimum of Sh.1 billion.
