Today morning members of West Pokot Red Cross branch board paid a courtesy call to the governor.
The team was led by the West Pokot County Branch Board chairman Mr. Solomon Merireng, they congratulated the governor and handed him a life membership certificate. They appreciated the humanitarian support the governor had been giving them ever since. In line with that they requested for an appointment with the governor where they can profoundly discuss issues like disaster management, water and sanitation, food security and health and how to deal with the same.
The governor Prof. Lonyangapuo on his part highly commended the society for the good job they have been doing in terms of disaster responses in the county. “I would like us to work hand in hand to first curb insecurity in Turkwel and other parts of the county that really needs help. There is food shortage and so we should sit down together and find ways to reduce it.” He said.
