Dairy farming is set to improve through the provision of Subsidized Artificial Insemination Services.
The Governor Prof. Lonyangapuo through the Directorate of Dairy Development launched a programme for provision of Subsidized Artificial Insemination Services.

Speaking during the launch at Kishaunet showground, Prof. Lonyangapuo emphasized on the need to improve the breed and production of dairy products to boost the county’s economy. “We as cattle keepers no longer have to strain ourselves like before. My government will do all it can to improve the dairy sector of this county with the best modern dairy farming techniques that is available. Today I give you a method that will improve the milk production that is the artificial insemination. Use this service well to improve your incomes and economy” he said.

Milk producing regions like Siyoi, Kapenguria, Tapach, Lelan, Chepareria among other areas will benefit from the subsidized AI services. This programme aims to profit over 1,300 cows in the county and a team of county workers will oversee the exercise.

Also present in the event were Dr. Mike Parklea- County Secretary, Geoffrey Lipale- CEC Member for Pastoral Economy, Agriculture and Irrigation, Mr. Josiah Cheruiyot- Dir. Dairy Development and a team from Brookside Company.
