Child growth and development is very essential and comprises of various key issues like nutrition and other good influential factors.


Governor Prof. Lonyangapuo has flagged off 25 tonnes of certified composite blend flour of the feeding program that was launched last year. This marks the second distribution after the one he launched last year as part of the Early Childhood Education feeding program. The porridge flour has various minerals aimed at fighting malnutrition among school going children.

Approximately 1,106 ECDE centres from across the county will benefit from this program comprising of 77,972 children. Since its inauguration, enrolment in schools has increased by 13.2% with 74 new ECDE centres opened. For the first time North Pokot and Pokot central sub counties lead in enrolment thanks to the county government’s initiative of the feeding program and peace along our borders.


The event saw leaders including CS Dr. Mike Parklea, CECs Christine Apakoreng (education), Emilly Chepoghisyo (water and environment), Francis Kitelauyan (lands), MCAs, officials from the education department and county residents witness it.
