H.E Governor Simon Kachapin held discussions with Pfizer Foundation officials from US who visited him at his official residence in Kapenguria.
Pfizer Foundation with support from World Vision has funded a 52 million shillings project to promote immunization and family planning in west Pokot County.
The project being undertaken in Pokot South and Central Pokot Sub-counties will be implemented in 18 months and intends to benefit over 30,763 women in reproductive age and 10256 children less than five years.
This is a critical project in the County that aims to address fertility rate in the County and boost Family Planning services.
Fertility rate in the County stands at 7.2%. This is high compared to the national percentage.
