H.E Governor Simon Kachapin held discussions with Pfizer Foundation officials from US who visited him at his official residence in Kapenguria.
Pfizer Foundation with support from World vision has funded a 52 million shillings project to promote immunization and family planning in west Pokot County.
The project being undertaken in Pokot South and Central Pokot Sub Counties will be implemented in 18 months and intends to benefit over 30,763 women in reproductive age and 10256 children less than five years.
This is a critical project in the County that aims to address fertility rate in the County and boost Family planning services.
Fertility rate in the County stands at 7.2%. This is high compared to the national percentage.
