County leaders led by the Governor Prof. Lonyangapuo, CEC Pastoral Economy, Agriculture and Irrigation, Mr. Lipale, CO Pastoral Economy, Mr. Maywa and other officers commissioned vaccination of goats and sheep against Petits Des Peste Ruminantes (PPR).

Petits Des Peste Ruminantes is a contagious disease primarily affects goats and sheep. The disease is highly infectious, and can have a 80–100% mortality rate in acute cases in an epidemic setting.

The exercise which commenced in Pokot Central Sub County at Dungdung in Masol Ward will be rolled out countywide. It targets over a million goats and sheep. The move seeks to make the region disease free thus enhancing quality of meat and milk. This will in turn boost marketability of animals.

Later, 1000 acres of land in Weiwei irrigation scheme was revived since it had suffered due to gross mismanagement.
