The health sector is set to improve following medical equipment donation from the Kenya Red Cross in partnership with the National Government and Global Fund.
Speaking during the flagging off of the equipment at the governor’s office in Kapenguria, Ag CEC for health Mr. Joel Ng’olekong said the medical equipment would aid in improving health services in the county with maternal health care reaping the most. The equipment will be dispatched to 26 health facilities in the county.
Ng’olekong reiterated that the equipment would go a long way in reducing mother and child mortality rates, he said that the health sector would be prioritized. Speaking on behalf of the governor and his deputy, the CEC expressed the need for continued partnership with Red Cross, especially in times of emergencies and conflicts.
Speaking during the flagging off of the equipment worth 14 Million, Kenya Red Cross Governor Dr. Muhamud Abdi said that West Pokot county is among 35 counties that have benefited from the donation, maintaining that they would continue to work closely with the county government to ensure that health care as a whole gets the much needed boost.
