The CS for ICT Joe Mucheru visited the County today to launch the much awaited Laptops for primary school pupils that were promised

by the Jubilee government.  The auspicious event took place at Ortum Boys Primary school after the CS paid a courtesy visit to the governor’s residents at Kapenguria.

The CS was accompanied by the CEO for ICT Authority Mr. Robert Mogo, CEC for Education and ICT Gladys Kiyapyap, professors from Moi University among other dignitaries.

The CS encouraged learning institutions to embrace technology in order to cope with the demand of the current world which have shifted from analogue to digital platforms.  

Speaking at the event he promised to support the host school to construct a computer lab for computer studies and other ICT operations.  

The governor requested the CS to liaise with devolution ministry to fast track the establishment of Huduma center in the county. He also asked the CS to seek a solution for the low network coverage and roaming in the region in an attempt to improve communication to the people of West Pokot County.
