Governor Prof. John Lonyangapuo this morning received specialist doctors from Cuba who will be working at Kapenguria referral hospital. The hospital records the highest number of patients in the county.
The county boss said that the arrival of the two doctors, Juan Garcia, an orthopaedic surgeon and Anna Perez- a family medicine specialist, was timely and will ultimately be of great value to the county’s health sector.
“These two doctors in collaboration with ours will help our people get access to better and affordable healthcare.” He said.

Dr. Anna, who has previously worked in Gambia, said that she was glad to be the county, saying she will work closely with doctors in the county to strengthen family medicine unit.
The county secretary Dr. Mike Parklea stated that the county will provide all the necessary assistance that the doctors will require so as to meet the medical needs of the people of West Pokot.
