His Excellency the governor launched irrigation accessories and motorbikes for famers in north Pokot and Masol areas. These materials come a few months after the government had donated irrigation generators to farmers in the same regions.
The consignment included pipes and irrigation suction pipes to be used by the farmers to drain water from the rivers. The accessories that costed around Ksh.1.4 million shillings are aimed at increasing the area under irrigation and also increase the number of farmers in those regions.

Speaking at the event, Governor Kachapin said that the move will assure that the county not only liberates itself from hunger and relief food but also it will create sustainability. He encouraged farmers to take advantage of the equipment and make agriculture a serious venture.

Along with the accessories were seven motorbikes distributed to the sub counties for field visits and training by agricultural officers. The governor assured the residents that he will make sure they get services at their disposal ends with the problem of proximity being eradicated.
