Governor Prof John Lonyangapuo hosted a delegation from Finland in his office; the delegation was led by Dr Eija Laitinen, Project Manager and a Senior Lecturer at Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK).


Finland has a keen interest on matters Agriculture, Forestry, Water and ICT. Ms Eija visited West Pokot in preparation for the establishment of a project, which seeks to improve capacity of vocational agriculture education for improved food security and agro-entrepreneurship.


Further deliberations are ongoing for the implementation of the project. Governor Lonyangapuo went ahead to thank Finland for considering West Pokot county in their life-changing programmes.
