County government of West Pokot has once again reassured its partners of more collaboration and support in development agenda.
Speaking this morning to a team from AMREF who are currently documenting projects implemented with various partners, the County Secretary Michael Parklea said that the new administration is ready to work with development partners to uplift local’s way of life.
He noted that there is need for provision of specialized treatment, saying documentation of trends has been ongoing in various health centres to help in planning of intervention measures to help curb malaria and TB prevalence in West Pokot.
He however commended AMREF for the provision of training and capacity building of governments and communities through identification, tracking and managing of diseases.
Gloria Wandayi who is the Projects Grants Manager- AMREF said that they will continue to work with West Pokot County which has been a main development partner in the past to improve health systems like laboratories and pharmacy stores with an aim of strengthening communities.
She pointed out that West Pokot County is among the few counties that will benefit from grants meant to renovate and equip laboratories and pharmacy stores.
Kapenguria and Kacheliba hospitals will be the major beneficiaries.
