COUNTY GOVERNMENT PURCHASE NEW GRADER TO EASE ROAD CONSTRUCTION WORK

Today His Excellency Governor Simon Kachapin flagged off a grader machine purchased by the County Government to aid in road works.
The machine whose coast is about 29 million shillings was procured to make the work less costly and effective.

Speaking during the launch at His Office, Governor Kachapin elaborated that the purchase of the machine is a blessing to the county since it will create convenience in the road network construction, citing that the task has been so difficult in the past since the government relied heavily on contractors.
“With the assistance of this new machine we will make our work easier and affordable especially in areas with impassable roads” He said.
The governor also reiterated on the ongoing doctors’ strike with a plea for the doctors to resume to work. “It is not fair for a National Umbrella-Union to organize a strike for employees who are managed by the County Government” he said.

Further, Governor Kachapin added that West Pokot County Government was way too far in taking care of the medical practitioners’ affairs as compared to other counties. Therefore, West Pokot County’s case was not that worse to see the doctors down their tools since His government is always ready for talks.
The Governor assured the people of his continued support as he left for a 50,000 tree seedling distribution to residents and farmers.
